PITTSBURGH, March 10, 2022 – With the 2022 Pennsylvania primary election just over two months away, conservative candidate Jason Richey’s campaign has launched its first television ad in Southwestern PA with a six-figure media buy and plans to expand television advertising to other markets across the Commonwealth between now and when voters go to the polls on May 17.

The ad, which can be viewed on the campaign website at as well as on television, highlights Richey’s blue collar roots, conservative positions and commonsense appeal as a political outsider. It’s an important step in Richey’s outreach to the voting public, building on the grassroots campaigning he’s done to introduce himself to voters since he announced his candidacy last summer.

“As someone who grew up in a working class family in Western Pennsylvania, I know how hard it is for families to get ahead,” said Richey. “For far too long, Governor Wolf, the career politicians in Harrisburg and the special interests that influence them have steered Pennsylvania down the wrong track. In the face of unprecedented challenges, they’ve held us back from achieving the kinds of production and prosperity our economy and our people are capable of. I have a real plan to end the mandates, champion a zero percent income tax, and unleash our energy capabilities so we can restore liberty to all Pennsylvanians.”

Richey’s plan for a Contract with Pennsylvania is a contract with our citizens to renew their individual rights and make their government accountable to them. It’s a contract to energize the growth and prosperity of the citizens of this great state, well into the future. The contract calls for creating jobs through lower taxes, eliminating the state income tax, supporting development of all types of energy, shrinking government, restoring integrity in government and in our elections process, funding police to ensure safety and security, and improving education through parental involvement.

“I entered this race because I believe Pennsylvanians deserve a governor who understands their struggles, shares their values, and is invested in creating a better future with more opportunities for our children and grandchildren,” said Richey. “From unconstitutional mandates to soaring gas and food prices, just like many Pennsylvanians, I’m frustrated. And once the voters get to know me and hear my plan to bring a new kind of leadership to Harrisburg, I believe we’re going to win.”

A native of Aliquippa, Pa., Jason Richey was a three-time Academic All-American wrestler at Allegheny College. He went to work in the steel mills to pay for law school and joined K&L Gates LLP in 1996, focused on representing large and small manufacturing and energy companies. As a lawyer, he has worked to uncover government corruption and procurement irregularities throughout the country. Now, he’s asking to represent Pennsylvanians as Governor in order to lead a Great Pennsylvania Comeback that will put the Commonwealth on the road to renewed prosperity.
