Political outsider earns 4,000 signatures from voters across the Commonwealth

PITTSBURGH, March 16, 2022 – Pittsburgh attorney and candidate for Pennsylvania Governor Jason Richey has earned his place on the ballot in the May Republican primary election, collecting 4,000 signatures on petitions to satisfy the requirements of the Commonwealth.

“This is an important step on the road to winning this race and putting in motion a great Pennsylvania comeback,” said Richey. “I’m grateful and humbled by the number of Pennsylvanians who have supported me – Pennsylvanians who recognize that we need a new vision, a new sense of accountability and a new leader in Harrisburg. The Contract with Pennsylvania I’ve proposed offers us renewed hope for a more prosperous future. I’m so proud of my team and our organization; the work they’ve done across the Commonwealth to help spread my message and gather the signatures we needed to earn a spot on the ballot has been monumental. Now, we’re going to run hard to the primary, and we’re going to win.”

Richey’s plan for a Contract with Pennsylvania is a contract with our citizens to renew their individual rights and make their government accountable to them. It’s a contract to energize the growth and prosperity of the citizens of this great state, well into the future. The contract calls for creating jobs through lower taxes, eliminating the state income tax, supporting development of all types of energy, shrinking government, restoring integrity in government and in our elections process, funding police to ensure safety and security, and improving education through parental involvement.

A native of Aliquippa, Pa., Jason Richey was a three-time Academic All-American wrestler at Allegheny College. He went to work in the steel mills to pay for law school and joined K&L Gates LLP in 1996, focused on representing large and small manufacturing and energy companies. As a lawyer, he has worked to uncover government corruption and procurement irregularities throughout the country. Now, he’s asking to represent Pennsylvanians as Governor in order to lead a Great Pennsylvania Comeback that will put the Commonwealth on the road to renewed prosperity.
