Richey family

Meet Jason

Jason Richey is a true Pennsylvanian.  His family can be traced to some of the earliest settlers in Washington County, where both of his parents were raised.  After his parents married, they moved to Beaver County. Jason grew up in Aliquippa, Beaver County and attended Hopewell Area High School where he played football and wrestled while taking numerous odd jobs to help his family, including grass cutting, busboy, roofer, and McDonalds’s cook.

Jason attended Allegheny College where he graduated magna cum laude, which earned him Phi Beta Kappa honors.  Additionally, Jason became a three-time NCAA Academic All-American wrestler and finished his collegiate wrestling career as only the third wrestler in Allegheny College history with 100 wins.

After college, Richey worked his way through law school in part as a union worker at an Aliquippa steel mill.  After graduating from the Ohio State College of Law, he returned home to Pittsburgh to practice law.

For three decades, Richey has built a successful legal practice and gained a reputation as one of the toughest litigators in the country.  He has represented large and small manufacturing, construction and energy companies throughout the world as well as representing the highest profile professional wrestling organization.  Richey has also represented companies to uncover government corruption and procurement irregularities at state and local governments throughout the country.

Richey has also dedicated his time giving back to his community.  Richey founded the Quaker Valley Wrestling Association for the good of children, the school district and his community.  He partnered with friends that had young children in the Quaker Valley School District to bring a competitive community wrestling program available to all kids,  including girls, to fruition.

Jason Richey and his wife Melissa reside in Sewickley, Allegheny County, they are the proud parents of three sons: Justin, Logan and Marcus.

I recently enjoyed a stop at the 52nd Annual Elk County Fait in Kersey.

I was glad to be welcomed by State Rep. Mike Armanini who joined me as I walked the grounds. It was a pleasure to talk with residents from across the county about what’s on their minds heading into the fall.

Grateful for the warm welcome and for the chance to connect with so many great people from Elk County!

I had an eventful day in Reading getting to get interact with the members of the community.

I started at a neighborhood grocery store, talking through what it actually takes to keep a neighborhood store running in this economy, from rising costs to public safety concerns.

From there, I toured Goggleworks Center for the Arts and saw glassblowers at work in a building that used to make safety goggles and now anchors downtown Reading’s creative economy.

I capped the day at the Berks County Republican Committee summer luau where I had the pleasure to speak to Berks County Republicans about what’s at stake this November, and about the vision Stacy Garrity and I have for turning Pennsylvania around.

Small business, the arts, and grassroots Republicans; three very different stops, all part of the same Pennsylvania I’m fighting for. Grateful to everyone in Berks County who took the time to show me around and share what matters to them.
